Upgraded to WordPress 2.5

I just finished upgrading to WordPress 2.5. Pretty easy-peasy! I love the much-improved admin interface. Still trying to figure out what all the new goodies are, but already I see a lot to like.

  • Steve, I hate to tell you but you have some issues here. Your archives have disappeared. Previous links fail and comments on previous posts have also disappeared.

I can get to neither via my del.icio.us bookmarks nor from the comments that show up in your side bar. Check the side bar for my comment on the What a mess post and try to get to either the post or your or my comments from there.

Did you change you permalink format or perhaps not refresh them after the upgrade?

    Good luck...
  • Mark, I did update my permalink structure, actually. I did that because I realized when I moved this blog that the old one was gone forever anyway. Sorry to cause trouble for you. Archives are available via a dropdown menu near the top right; they show ok for me, do they not show at all for you?
  • Hey, it's your blog, brother. :) Do what you feel seems right for you. Not so much a fan of (only) that as archive navigation, but again, it's yours. I guess I haven't checked an older (pre-host move) link and was only referring to one from a couple days ago, and in that case the comments are missing too. As long as you are aware, I'm good. Just wanted to ensure it was either intentional or accepted (as best case) or both. ;)
  • Mark, thanks for pointing out these things; I really do appreciate it. I was wondering about the archives issue you raise and thought I'd add a page at the top as well, for the complete archives. See what you think. I am not sure if it really "fixes" the issue for you but ...
  • That's an interesting layout, which means little at this point. I'll have to come play around in it and see what I like or don't like about it. Still internet-less at home so I'm rationing my time across many things still. :(
